no.155: the good stuff pt. 3

CHANEL Double Perfection Foundation

It’s light and blends well. While it’s $50 a pop (and I’m almost out!), it’s one of the makeups that I feel strongly about investing in. I can wear it  as is with a primer (the MAC Prep+Prime is excellent) and a touch of concealer (I’m loving the ELF concealer stick) and feel like I have enough coverage.

Woodwinked MAC Eyeshadow

It’s smooth and goes on really well. I use the Bare Minerals eyeshadow brush which is really fluffy and nice. Since I’ve been rocking dark red lips lately, I’ve been going really light on the eyes (brown eyeliner and a touch of this stuff). It’s a really subtle shade with some shimmer.

Colored Bobby Pins

I picked up a pack of bronze, light blue and pink bobby pins at H&M yesterday. My hair is dark brownish reddish-purple these days and the light blue looks really great. Just something a little different when you don’t have a ton of time to fiddle with your hairs.

Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer

Daddy got me this for Christmas. I’ve so far only made two cookie recipes in it but at Sur La Table for a cooking class w/Mum, I picked up a bag of Perfect Pizza Dough and will be kicking my pistachio baby into gear to whip up Pizza Night. It’s really nice, it works evenly and it’s great to have my hands free and able to prep things while she’s whirring.

Spice of Life White Tea from Teavana

I knew I’d left a good amount of this somewhere and found it when I went home yesterday. It’s spicy and brisk and fruity and a great morning tea. Mine is blended with Ayuvedic Chai, mixed by a friend at Teavana. It gives a really nice smokey flavor and filled with antioxidants. There’s a lot of research saying chai and the spices in it are good for the skin as well. Here’s to hoping.

For the Love of God by DA Carson

I am loving this book. at’s a daily exposition of chapters of scripture. Following along over the course of a year, reading four passages a day, you can  read the Bible all the way through. There’s another track (the one I’m actually doing) that is two years. I like to take it slower and process and mull over. I really like the explication Carson gives as well. He’s got a lot of insight and it’s a convicting daily read.

Zee Avi – Zee Avi

I talked about Ghostbird (2011) in my first Good Stuff post. I really like her and have been listening to her back albums. This one came out in 2009 and it’s just as good. It has a definite Thao Nguyen and the Get Down, Stay Down feel to it but I love that, so it works. I’m kind of over Lana Del Ray (with the exception of ‘Blue Jeans’ and ‘Videogames’) and keep finding myself turning back to Zee. ‘Honeybee” and “Kantoi” are my particular favorites. And “Darling” makes me so curious to know what she’d sound like singing with Ryan Adams.

And that’s that. RacecaR has parking court today. I’m fighting a RIDICULOUS ticket. We’ll see how it goes. Even if I end up having to pay, they typically cut you a break for coming in and fighting for it.
